What are egress bandwidth pricing tiers?
In Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), egress bandwidth pricing is designed to be "data-friendly." Unlike competitors who often have complex, multi-tiered calculations that vary by region, OCI uses a simple, flat structure with a very generous free allowance.
As of early 2026, here is how the egress tiers are structured:
The most important tier is the one you don't pay for. OCI provides the first 10 TB of outbound data transfer per month for free.
Scope: This applies globally across all regions.
Calculation: This is per originating region or per product SKU, meaning most small to medium enterprises never see a networking bill at all.
Once you exceed the 10 TB monthly threshold, OCI applies a flat rate based on where the data is originating. Unlike other providers, the price does not continue to "tier down" into smaller increments as you use more (e.g., 50 TB vs 500 TB); it remains at a low, consistent flat rate.

Note: These rates are roughly 10x lower than the industry average, where competitors often start at $0.08–$0.09 per GB.
Intra-Region (Internal): Data moving between Availability Domains (ADs) or Fault Domains within the same region is $0 (Free).
Inter-Region (Cloud-to-Cloud): Data moving between two different OCI regions (e.g., US-East to London) is charged at the same rates as the public internet egress shown in the table above.

Data Charges: There are zero inbound or outbound data transfer charges.
