It is a configuration that allows a private data center (On-Premises) to "burst" into a public cloud (like AWS or Azure) when its own capacity reaches a certain limit. Instead of your website crashing because too many people are visiting at once, your local servers stay online by "overflowing" the extra traffic into the cloud.


The "Holiday Party" Analogy

Imagine you are throwing a dinner party in your apartment. You have enough chairs and space for 10 guests.
